Our History
Established in May 1944, Horsham Downs has deep roots in the local community. We began as a modest six-hole paddock course on Aubrey Boyd's farm, played originally by local farmers and their families. In fact, it wasn’t until the mid-1960s that Hamilton "townies" started joining the ranks!
To accommodate our growing membership, the club moved to its current site on the Rototuna Domain in 1949. Through the tireless efforts of our pioneering members, a reserve once covered in gorse and blackberry was transformed into the beautiful, well-loved course we play today.
Having celebrated our 75th Jubilee in 2019, we are incredibly proud of our heritage. Today, that original community spirit is stronger than ever.
Whether you are joining us for regular club days, participating in local competitions, or simply enjoying a weekend round with mates, you will find a relaxed, historic, and welcoming atmosphere to enjoy the great game of golf.
